Wear Issues Other Than Spatter and Slag in Automated Welding

In case you missed it, Emil Schubert of ABICOR BINZEL had a nice series of posts last year on reducing downtime in robotic welding over at the Abicor Binzel blog. Dwelling entirely on wear issues other than those produced by spatter and slag, the trilogy of posts deal with the selection of the welding torch and associated parts (contact tip, gas distributor, and liner), and with the cable assembly, torch mount, switch-off protection, and torch cleaning. Weld Dynamix focuses on issues due to spatter and slag, but it's nice to cover the entire terrain.
